What it does

  • Straight off the network

    Browse SMB2/3 shares — NAS, Windows, or macOS File Sharing — NFS exports, and DLNA/UPnP servers on your own network, and play from them directly. Nothing is copied, converted or indexed first.

  • Or straight onto the Apple TV

    Send files to the device from any browser on your wifi, behind a PIN and only while the upload screen is open. For the file that is not on a server yet.

  • Nothing to set up

    No companion server, no agent, no library scan. Bonjour and SSDP find hosts on your network, and the setup wizard is built to keep tvOS typing to a minimum.

  • The native player

    Files tvOS can open natively go through the system player, so you get the real transport — scrubbing previews, track menus, and the platform's own HDR pipeline rather than a reimplementation of it.

  • MKV too

    Containers the system player refuses are handed to a separate engine, so your MKVs and AVIs play without being repackaged first. An .srt beside the video shows up in the subtitle menu.

  • Stays on your network

    Traffic goes to your own servers and nowhere else. No accounts, no telemetry, no metadata scraping, no internet round-trip — and no watch history: JadePeak records neither what you played nor where you stopped.

Privacy

What this app collects

Nothing.

Traffic never leaves your local network: SMB and NFS reads from your own servers, DLNA browsing and playback on the server's own address, SSDP and Bonjour discovery, an upload page served on your wifi behind a PIN and only while that screen is open, and a loopback connection on the device itself that feeds the player.

  • No account, no login, no analytics, no ads.
  • No third-party SDKs of any kind.
  • Deleting the app deletes everything.
