Website Privacy Notice

This notice covers darjus.dev, the website. It does not cover the apps — AtolShip, Layra and JadePeak each have their own privacy policy, linked in the footer, and those describe what happens on your device rather than on this site.

Who is responsible

Darjus Kazakevic is the data controller for this website. For anything in this notice, including any request below, email darjus.dev@gmail.com.

What this site collects

No account, no login, no forms. There is nothing on this site to sign up for and nothing to submit, so the site never asks you for your name, your email address or any other personal detail.

No cookies. This site sets no cookies of any kind, and stores nothing in your browser’s local storage. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to storing on your device.

Aggregate analytics. I run Plausible Analytics to see which pages get read. It is self-hosted — the data goes to a server I run, not to an analytics company — and it is designed not to identify anyone. For each page view it records:

• the page address on this site, and the referring site if you arrived from a link
• your browser, operating system and device type
• your country, derived from your IP address

Your IP address is never stored. It is used in memory to look up the country and to compute a one-way hash that lets the software tell one visit from another within a single day. That hash is salted with a value that is rotated daily and discarded, so it cannot be reversed, cannot be linked to you, and cannot be used to follow you from one day to the next.

The result is a set of counts — how many people read a page, from roughly where, on what kind of device. There is no profile, no advertising identifier, no cross-site tracking and no data sold or shared with anyone.

What the site loads

Everything this site displays — fonts, images, stylesheets — is served from darjus.dev itself. There are no third-party fonts, embeds, ad networks or content delivery networks, so no other company sees your IP address when you read a page here. The analytics script described above is the only script loaded from another address, and that address is mine.

Why I am allowed to do this

The analytics rests on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) UK/EU GDPR: knowing which pages are read is necessary to keep the site useful, and the measurement is aggregate and cookieless, so the effect on your privacy is minimal. I do not rely on consent, because nothing is stored on your device that would require it.

If you would rather not be counted at all, any content blocker will stop the script, and the site works identically without it.

Server logs

This site runs on a web server, and web servers keep short-lived operational logs to stay running and to spot abuse. Those logs are not used for analytics, are not combined with the analytics data above, and are not used to build any profile of you.

How long it is kept

The analytics database holds aggregate counts only — no identifiers, no IP addresses, nothing that points back to a person — so there is no personal data sitting in it to age out. Nothing in this notice creates a record about you that I could retrieve.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability.

I have to be straight with you about what that means here: because the analytics stores no identifier of any kind, I have no way to find “your” data, and no way to confirm that a given visit was yours. There is nothing to hand over, correct or delete — not as a refusal, but because it genuinely does not exist in a form tied to you. If you have emailed me, that email is in my mailbox and those rights apply to it in full.

You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In Lithuania that is the State Data Protection Inspectorate; if you are elsewhere in the EU or in the UK, your own national authority can take the complaint.

Links away from here

The apps link to the App Store, and the projects page links to sites at their own domains. Once you follow a link off darjus.dev, this notice stops applying and the destination’s own policy takes over.

Changes

If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. There is no mailing list to notify, because there is no mailing list.
